Your Salvation

WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED

Those present on the Day of Pentecost after hearing the gospel spoken by Peter were pricked in their hearts and asked the question in verse 37 of the 2nd chapter of Acts of “…What shall we do?”  The Philippian jailor asked a question very similar to this to Paul and Silas in Acts 16:30 as a result of the events that occurred previously in the 16th chapter of Acts.  His question was very precise, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”   Would it not seem appropriate that the response to both of these questions ended up with the same purpose—instruction as to what must be done in order to receive salvation?

There are many today asking, “What must I do to be saved?”  The Lord in His infinite wisdom has given us the answer to that question in His Holy Scriptures.  Let us see what His answer is.

We must HEAR the Word of God –
Romans 10:17, 1 John 4:6, Matthew 7:24-27.

We must BELIEVE His Word –
Romans 10:8-9, John 3:16, Hebrews 11:6.

We must REPENT of our sins –
Acts 3:19, II Peter 3:9, Luke 13:3 & 5.

We must CONFESS that Christ is the Son of God –
Matthew 10:32, Luke 12:8, I John 4:15, Romans 10:10.

We must be BAPTIZED into Christ –
Galatians 3:27, I Peter 3:21, Acts 2:38, Acts 22:16.

These steps are the same steps that those on the Day of Pentecost and the Philippian jailor had to follow.  All of us MUST follow these steps as God does not show partiality according to Acts 10:34-43.  These steps allow us to be “…added to His church” according to Acts 2:47.  (Be sure to see the importance of being added to His church in our article on “I Will Build My Church?”).

We then must remain FAITHFUL to Christ—
I Corinthians 15:58, Revelation 2:10.

May we encourage you to take these steps to ensure that you position yourself to be a recipient of His mercy on the Day of Judgment.  Please contact us if we can be of any assistance to you in your search of “What You Must Do To Be Saved.”
