Just On My Mind                        A Guest Article

I would like to share some things that have come to my mind lately.

God has blessed me with the ability to be able to fix or repair almost anything. Weed eaters or lawn mowers, computers or cars, it doesn’t matter. I can work on most anything. Many times I have pulled out of the trash, lawn mowers, vacuum cleaners, computers, and other items that people have thrown out. I have cleaned them, got them working, and fixed them up like brand new.

That ability allows me to relate to what God does for us through His Son, Jesus Christ. He finds us trashed by sin and cleans us up. God washes us in the blood of His Son, He cleanses us and makes us brand new.

I would love to say thank you for all the members here. You are God’s hands at work in the world. You all have blessed me with your prayers and support. You have made me feel like a part of the family; a family that I never had before.

Please always remember how much God really loves you. Pray for those who are over you in Christ. Pray for those who teach and feed us with God’s word.

with love in Christ,

Thomas H. Smith

Peter often looks at things differently than Paul, whom we read so often. In 1 Peter 1:22, the apostle mentions that “love of the brethren” is indeed one reason why they had purified their souls in obedience to the truth. Open family love is a strong statement to the world, both when it is present and when it is not. When really present, and not just talked about, it is a magnetic force to sin heavy hearts. When absent, even when talked about, it makes hollow every other claim of freedom, love, and concern. As we practice this trait, let me encourage all to excel still more. mac
