Nepal Airlines Sacrifices 2 Goats by Carl McMurray

The above was the headline on September 5. And yes, it was 2007. Faced with technical problems on their aging Boeing 757, Nepal airlines sacrificed two goats to the Hindu sky god, Akash Ahairab. A senior airline official, K.C. Raju reported, “The snag in the plane has now been fixed and the aircraft has resumed it flights.” John Adams, a visiting scholar at the University of Virginia, who has flown on Nepal airlines said, “It may be one of the most effective things they’ve done” to fix the planes.

Now tell me again that people’s moral code does not affect their decision making in daily life. Go ahead and say it loud, like many did when a past President engaged in adulterous sexual romps with a young woman around the age of his daughter. We were told that his “private” life didn’t have anything to do with “doing his job.” Their completely separate, aren’t they? Now try and tell that to goat herders in Nepal.

The religion of Islam is peaceful, we’re continually told. Despite clear teaching in the Qu’ron to the contrary. It’s just a coincidence that 99 out of 100 raging suicide bombers, terrorists, and mothers sending their children out to be such, in the past 20 years have been Muslim. Surely their moral code could not be affecting their decision making, could it? You can’t really tell a person’s belief by their actions can you?

In the hierarchy of the Catholic faith the leadership is forbidden to marry. In their Mass (communion) the priest uses alcoholic wine and the cup is always completely drained, no matter how many Masses are held that day. It’s just a coincidence that alcoholism and sexual abuse rates are outrageous in this small group, isn’t it? Their moral code is not really affecting their decision making is it?

The homosexual community has rejected God’s directions for sexual relationships for what the apostle in Romans one (NASV) called impure, degrading, unnatural, and indecent acts. It’s just a coincidence that this small group in our population has the highest per capita rate of AIDS by far, and the lowest levels of true commitment as demonstrated in their high rate of partner turnover. Keep saying, “It’s not their moral code affecting their decision making, it’s just coincidence.” Convinced yet?

As you think about supporting a political party or individual in the coming years. Tell yourself, “It’s just coincidence.” Supporting the death of children in the womb, ties to organized crime, looking the other way at sex trade and slavery in their districts...etc., these aren’t the result of lacking a moral code, are they? Wanna buy a goat?
