“Lead me not into temptation…” by John Smith
I can’t remember where I first heard this question, but it has stuck with me. One asked, “If opportunity only knocks once, why does temptation lean on the door bell?” It is a troubling reality that temptation accompanies us throughout all the days of our life. At home, at work, at play – doesn’t matter – temptation dogs our every step. The song, “Where the Roses Never Fade” speaks of a time when we’ll be free from all temptation. As those who are striving to live godly in an ungodly world, “temptation free living” should be appealing. May each of us fight the good fight now – may each of us so live and love that someday we can enjoy being free from the struggle with temptation and sin. |
